Transport: Johor Bahru-Singapore RTS Link due to open on 2027-01-01

The Star reported on 2026-08-18 that the RTS Link, a 4 km shuttle railway between Bukit Chagar in Johor Bahru and Woodlands in Singapore, is designed for up to 10,000 passengers an hour each way and is due to open on 2027-01-01; fares and the exact start date will be announced jointly by both transport ministers.

Tutoring: tuition centres register with Malaysia's education ministry

A 2026-09-17 report says Malaysian tuition centres are registered under the education ministry's (KPM) private education centre guidelines, which cover teaching standards, teacher qualifications, student safety and premises. Ownership rules change from 2027, so some centres may restructure; check a centre's KPM registration.
