Notes on the data

Names, cities, areas, websites and curricula now taken from the official finder (replaces slug-derived names of task 13). The finder has only three country filters (UAE, Qatar, Egypt); no school outside those three is listed, so GEMS schools elsewhere (the group says it has schools in Asia, Europe and North America) are not on the official list and are not included. Listed: 54 (UAE 47: Dubai 31, Abu Dhabi 7, Al Ain 1, Sharjah 6, Ras Al Khaimah 1, Fujairah 1; Qatar 2 (Doha); Egypt 5 (Cairo)). Homepage still states 52 schools (older figure); company page states 200,000 students. Three entries are not GEMS-branded (New Dubai Nursery, Madinaty Integrated Language Schools, Madinaty Language School) but appear on the GEMS finder. Owner not stated (null); HQ city not stated (company says it was founded in the UAE); founder Sunny Varkey.
