Checklist by grade

1. Grade 9

   • Start keeping every term's transcript and enrolment letter as PDFs, so the record survives a school change.Open the page
   • Discuss the senior programme (IB DP, A Level, AP) with the school and check how universities in your target countries read it.Open the page
   • Read each university's English requirement: whether a test is needed and when it is waived.Open the page

2. Grade 10

   • Check required subjects for the intended major on the university pages and choose courses accordingly.Open the page
   • For US universities, put the PSAT, SAT and ACT dates and deadlines in the calendar.Open the page
   • Keep activities, awards and service in one dated list; applications ask for exactly this.

3. Grade 11

   • Register for SAT/ACT and AP/IB sessions; test policies (optional, required) differ by university.Open the page
   • If an English test is needed, sit it late in Grade 11 or early Grade 12 so the score is still valid at application.Open the page
   • Build the shortlist and note each university's deadlines and platform (Common App, UCAS …).Open the page
   • Agree with the school counsellor who writes predicted grades and references, and when.

4. Grade 12

   • Submit applications and essays for early and regular deadlines; order transcript and score reports.Open the page
   • Gather tuition, proof-of-funds and visa documents so they are ready as soon as offers arrive.
   • Send final transcripts and the diploma the way the university asks (IB results release, school dispatch).
